This booklet uses the following terms to describe parents who pay or receive child support:
A paying parent is a person who pays an amount of child support.
A receiving parent is a person who will receive an amount of child support.
You can get copies of the Simplified Federal Child Support Tables from the Department of Justice Canada's Internet site at http://canada.justice.gc.ca/eng/pi/sup-pen/grl/pdftab.htm. You can also call the Department of Justice Canada's Family Law Information Line at 1-888-373-2222, or you can call your provincial or territorial government.
