OTTAWA, July 31, 2008 -- The Honourable Robert Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, today announced the following appointment:
The Honourable Neill Brown, a lawyer with Neill Brown Law in Abbotsford is appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. He replaces the Honourable Kathryn Neilson who was appointed to the British Columbia Court of Appeal on May 8, 2008.
Mr. Justice Brown received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in 1970. Mr. Justice Brown received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1974. He was admitted to the Bar of British Columbia in 1975. Mr. Justice Brown has been a partner with Neill Brown Law since 1999. Mr. Justice Brown was a partner with Linley, Duignan from 1978 to 1998 and a lawyer with Zlotnik, Dumoulin, Lowes and Boskovich from 1975 to 1977. Mr. Justice Brown has developed an expertise in civil litigation.
This appointment is effective immediately.
